About Studio Triumph
- What is Studio Triumph?
- Studio Triumph is an online comic book studio founded by Nick, Ben, and Sam. We’re here to entertain you, and we’re pretty good at it.
- So, what kind of comics do you do, then?
- Well, currently, Studio Triumph has three projects we’re actively working on, and a few we’re toying with behind the scenes in out free time. First off, we’ve got Nikki, a story about a teenaged Anti-Christ who fights evil. It’s full of sexy, beautiful women, high-adventure (read: eye popping ass-kickery), and hilarious blasphemy. The second book we have in production at the moment is called the Talbot Chronicles, which was created by Sam and Nick, is drawn by Jeph, and is also written by Nick, with some side stories in production by our secret bonus artist. Genre wise, it’s a supernatural film-noir horror story spanning sixty years, and told totally out of sequence; think the Wolf-Man meets the Big Sleep meets Memento with a little bit of Interview with the Vampire thrown in (the time span stuff, not so much the androgynous vampire stuff). The last project, created and produced by Studio Triumph founders Nick, Ben, and Sam, is called The Fallen Knight and the Shining Maiden and could best be described as a fantasy saga told from two opposite points of view, and it’s rife with dragons, epic battles, complex moral quandaries, and all sorts of other cool stuff.
- So Nick writes all the books?
- Yeah, he's pretty awesome.
- I see. Is Nick writing this Q&A?
- ...Technically.
- So Nick's kind of a self-promoting jerk who doesn't give the real artists enough credit, then?
- Pretty much. I'm jealous of their many talents and perfect hair.
- Ok...what else should I know about Studio Triumph?
- We’re just starting out, so we don’t have a lot of content up yet, but once a book starts updating, we’re going to do whatever’s necessary (scheduling lead time, working together, overtime, bribery, chronal manipulation, pagan sacrifice) to keep them updating regularly. Once all three books are going, you can expect about six to seven pages of comic per week (most likely on five days, with blog posts and/or art to keep you coming back on the “off” days). Additionally, the Talbot stories by our secret bonus artist may appear at any time, so it’s probably best if you check in on the site daily.
- That sounds pretty ambitious. Why three books instead of one?
- Because we had three really cool ideas. Also because we wanted to call ourselves a studio, which would have been kind of silly if we only had one book.
- Can I work for Studio Triumph?
- Depends. Right now we don't really need anyone, but sooner or later we'll need somebody for something, and when that time comes, there'll definitely be a news/blog post. Also, we should probably hire an editor, but we're young, cocky, and stupid (also:improbably good looking, just for the record), so we're going without for now.
- Does Studio Triumph make any profit off their work?
- Not yet, we don't, as we haven't been around long enough to attract an audience (site's been live about one hour at the time of this writing). But we've taken on some simple advertisers to try and make at least enough to keep the site running (so if you like what we're doing, click our ads! even if you don't care what the ad's for.) If there's ever enough demand for it, we'd love to put out some sweet Studio Triumph merchandise for you.
- Any legal stuff we should know about?
- All original stories/situations/characters/art are copyright Studio Triumph unless otherwise noted, and shouldn’t be used without permission; if you’re reproducing them in an effort to bring in more readers for Studio Triumph, please, go nuts.
- So exactly who's working on all this stuff
- Well, here's the list:
- Nick is Writer/Editor for Talbot Chronicles, Nikki, The Fallen Knight, The Shining Maiden
- Ben is Webmaster/All around awesome guy for Studio Triumph
- Sam is pencils, inks for The Fallen Knight
- Savage is Drawer, Tracer for Talbot Chronicles
- Dsurion is Letterer for Nikki, Talbot Chronicles
- Tarulfang is Letterer for Studio Triumph
- Zelot is penciler for Nikki
- Trismi is Colorist for Nikki
- AKwa is Digital Inks/Colorist (pages 1-5) for Nikki
- grey is colorist for The Fallen Knight
- Any last words?
- Well, hopefully I won’t have to use them any time soon, but I’m leaning towards “I died doing what I loved: redheads. Lots of them.”
- I meant for this Q&A.
- Oh. Um... how about “enjoy the show”? Also: “tell your friends,” and “thanks for reading.”
